Interview with an Entrepreneur

Two ways to make a big impact on your business.
As we come to the end of 2007 many of us start to plan for the new year.

I'd like to invite you to take a stand for your business in 2008 with these two opportunities:

1. HerVoice is the public policy, advocacy and capacity building program of the Australian Businesswomen’s Network (ABN).
HerVoice is an exciting new direction for the Australian Businesswomen’s Network - a response to numerous requests for the ABN to take a leading role in public policy development, advocacy and lobbying on issues relating to Australian business women and female entrepreneurs.

HerVoice will take the concerns of the ABN’s community of over 20,000 Australian businesswomen to government and industry, advocating and lobbying to make a real difference to legislative outcomes.

The effect of public policy on your ability to run and expand a successful business cannot be overestimated!  Decisions that affect your business success are made daily at all levels of government - often without any industry consultation.

We invite you to join us as we lobby to shape good public policy across the raft of issues impacting Australian entrepreneurs and women in business. Learn more at the HerVoice website.

2. The benefits to your business of a mentor cannot be underestimated.
One of the things about this year that I am most proud of is the MentorNet program, the ABN's 6-month mentoring program for women in business. Since its launch in January the program has helped 60 women develop a business plan, improve their business skills, expand their networks and be empowered by the encouragement and guidance of a mentor.

Here's what one participant said:

"I have found a new level of passion for my business. The MentorNet Program has been an invaluable tool for both my business and my personal growth. With the help of my Mentor and my pod members, I have found a new level of passion for my business and developed clear goals and systems, which give me the direction and tools required to establish growth and success. The on-going support and advice is invaluable and the process is fun and rewarding."
